Dr. Parminder Suchdev is a physician-epidemiologist specializing in global health, with a focus on maternal and child nutrition and health equity. With more than 20 years of experience in public health research, global health education, pediatric clinical care, and program leadership, his work centers on strengthening nutrition measurement and translating evidence into policy and practice.
He is a Professor of Pediatrics and Global Health at Emory University and a Pediatric Hospitalist at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. From 2022 to 2025, he served as the lead epidemiologist for the CDC Central America office in Guatemala, addressing critical public health challenges affecting vulnerable populations.
Dr. Suchdev has authored more than 145 scientific publications on micronutrient malnutrition and infectious diseases, with research that has informed World Health Organization guidelines and country strategies to prevent and treat anemia and micronutrient deficiencies in women and children.
He was the founding Director of Emory’s Global Health & Equity Office, served as Associate Director of the Emory Global Health Institute, and has held leadership roles within the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is also deeply committed to training future leaders in global nutrition and health equity.
